The Home Care Agency

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 25, 2026

1. Who We Are

The Home Care Agency (“The Home Care Agency,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website thehomecareagency.com (the “Site”). We are a private, free-to-consumer enrollment matching and referral service. We help families seeking in-home care — including Medicaid-funded home care and home care for veterans — check potential program eligibility and connect with independent, licensed home care agencies. We are compensated by those agencies through a flat marketing fee — the consumer never pays us.

Important: We are not a home care provider agency. We do not employ caregivers, we do not bill Medicaid, and we do not determine eligibility for any program — the applicable state agency does. For veteran-related inquiries, we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (“VA”) or any other government agency; we are not VA-accredited and we do not prepare or file VA benefit claims.

2. Information We Collect

(a) Information you provide

When you submit a form or call us, we collect the information you give us, such as your name, phone number, email address, your state and ZIP code, whether you are the person needing care or are helping a family member, whether the care recipient has Medicaid, and anything else you choose to submit about your situation or care needs.

(b) Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect your IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, and the referring URL. We also collect advertising identifiers — including UTM parameters, the Google Click ID (gclid), the Meta / Facebook click ID (fbclid), and similar identifiers — through hidden form fields and cookies, so we can measure which ads brought you to us.

(c) Call data

Calls to or from us may be recorded and transcribed for quality, training, and record-keeping purposes, using call-tracking and AI voice technology (including CallTrackingMetrics and Retell AI).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Match you with one or more licensed home care agencies;
  • Contact you about your request by phone call, SMS text message, and email — including through automated dialing systems and AI / artificial-voice technology;
  • Measure, evaluate, and improve our advertising;
  • Operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site and our service;
  • Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.

4. How We Share Your Information

Sharing your information with a matched home care agency is the core service you are asking us to perform. We share your information as follows:

  • With the licensed home care agency(ies) we match you to, so they can contact you about home care. This is the central purpose of our service and the reason you submitted your information.
  • With service providers and processors that help us operate the Site and our service — for example, Google (Analytics and Ads), Meta (advertising pixel), CallTrackingMetrics (call tracking), Retell (AI voice), Vercel (hosting), and our CRM / portal provider.
  • For legal reasons, such as to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, property, or safety of you, us, or others.
  • We do not sell your personal information to unrelated third parties for their own independent marketing.

Mobile Information & SMS Consent

We use your mobile phone number and SMS consent to contact you about your care request. We do not sell or share mobile opt-in or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. When you ask us to match you with a licensed home care agency, we do share your contact information with that matched agency so it can reach you — this is done to fulfill the service you requested, not for third-party marketing.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Site, remember your information, and measure advertising performance. These include Google Tag Manager (loaded server-side through this Site’s own /metrics path), Google Analytics and Google Ads, the Meta Pixel, and CallTrackingMetrics dynamic number insertion.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of certain advertising through Google’s Ads Settings and Meta’s ad-preference settings. Disabling cookies may affect how the Site functions.

6. Your Choices & Rights

  • SMS: Reply STOP to any text message to unsubscribe.
  • Calls: You may decline calls or ask to be removed from our contact list during any phone call.
  • Access, correction & deletion: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us using the details below.

Residents of certain states — for example California (under the CCPA / CPRA) and other states with comprehensive privacy laws — may have additional rights regarding their personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in the “Contact Us” section below.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. [RETENTION PERIOD — to be confirmed by counsel].

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our service is intended for adults. The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age.

10. Third-Party Sites & Agencies

The licensed home care agencies we match you with, and any third-party websites linked from the Site, are independent and have their own privacy practices. This Privacy Policy does not govern their handling of your information. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
